Thursday, January 27, 2011 now using HTML5

Apple has launched an overhauled website, now based on HTML5 instead of HTML4. The most obvious change comes in the form of a new navigation bar, dark instead of light gray, with a search field that scales in size to match entered terms. The site is also better compatible with mobile browsers.
Clicking on either the Mac or iPod tabs brings up new, animated product navigation menus, making it easier to jump to a particular device or piece of software. Under the Mac section for instance, site visitors can by default jump to pages for different computers or one for Snow Leopard. Tabs below the graphical menu let people switch to sections for applications, accessories, and server software and hardware.
