Sony announces Xperia P at Mobile World Congress 2012

Sony now has phones without the Ericson tag attached to it, as they announce Xperia P at the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2012.

The new Xperias is almost like the smaller version of the Xperia S, so it is expected to be prices lower than that, but still no information about the price is available at the moment. Xperia P has got the power of 1GHz dual-core NovaThor U8500 processor with 1GB RAM running Android 2.3 Gingerbread which will be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich after some times of the launch.
When it comes to display, the P has got a 4-inches display with the screen resolution of 540x960 pixels. For some photography options the Xperia P has got an 8MP camera with the capability of recording HD videos at 1080p and has got 16GB of in-built storage with no option of an SD card. The battery sounds to be good with 470 hours of standby time, 6 hours talk-time, but can’t say how good it is until the device makes way in the market. The launch date is also not revealed about this new addup to the Xperia lineup, but will be making way in the Q2 of this year.
