No 4G for China at least for the next 2 to 3 years

China Mobile and Clearwire have got LTE but they are facing some issues and will not be licensed for commercial use. This news came in as interference to the plans of China Mobile to set up 20,000 base stations to support TD-LTE before the end of this year.

The issue that government has is that carrier's homegrown 3G standard TD-SCDMA doesn't yet have enough penetration across the country and they feel that TD-LTE ecosystem isn't mature enough for commercialization.
The plans of Clearwire are not revealed on this issue and what sort of impact the decision of the government have on their plans is not clear yet, but as far as the things have panned out so far it looks like China is not getting 4G LTE any time soon and people might have to wait for 2 to 3 years to use 4G.
