Learning a new skill has never been this much easy with the open source software available and free documentations to read. Web technology is no different and to get started you just need a text editor and some documentations to read about HTML, CSS and Javascript with practical examples.

Things needed:

  1. Text Editor: Aptana Studio
I think this is one of the best text editors available for free for web developers to make a complete website or any other web related project. Aptana Studio is free and also is available for all the platforms, Mac, Windows and Linux.
  2. Documentation: Mozilla Developer Network
This is one of the best places to learn about web technology. Mozilla being a free and open source projects is really at the cutting edge of web standards and learning things from Mozilla will make you understand Web better with some live examples. To start up, just start you journey with exploring HTML, CSS and Javascript and get familiar with these languages to explore more technologies and techniques used for web development.

Well this is it, this is what you need to get started for making your first Web project so have fun and enjoy exploring the web from the eyes of a developer.
