Microsoft to update Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 on 17 October

Microsoft is all set to rollout Windows 8.1, which will start at 12:00 am on October 18th in New Zealand, that is 4:00 am October 17th in Redmond, Microsoft's headquarters. The update will be free for all Windows 8 users and can be downloaded with the help of Windows update feature.
The new update adds a lot of features to the operating system and some useful tweaks to some of the old ones. The most wanted feature in this update is the start menu, the old Windows start menu is back with Windows 8.1.
Some new add ups to the operating system include the all new Internet Explorer 11, new improved search that will be powered by bing and much much more.
So all those Windows' users who were not happy with all the new features, the 8.1 update might satisfy them with more new features and tweaks to the old ones and most importantly the start menu is finally back.
